Their dance of death and lust is one of the most stylish subplots AHS has ever done. The Rest of the Coven Gabourey Sidibe as Queenie A human voodoo doll. Gabourey is fantastic as the snarky, lonely, and deeply powerful Queenie. Trapped between the witch world and the voodoo world, Queenie just wants to belong. Sidibe lands every punchline ("I'm not a batter witch!") and every dramatic beat.

Talk about a redemption arc for a monster. Kathy Bates plays a real-life historical figure: a sadistic socialite who tortured slaves in her attic. Brought back to life in modern times, she is forced to be the maid for a Black witch. Playing Fiona’s meek, emotionally battered daughter, Sarah Paulson gives a masterclass in vulnerability. Cordelia starts the season as a fragile flower, blind (literally and figuratively) to her own power.
