Title: The Ghost of a Giant: Remembering Hongfire’s Golden Age

Hongfire used to be the #1 source for adult game mods (specifically for Illusion games). However, in 2024/2025, the site is largely a ghost town.

The golden era is over. The owners never fixed the infrastructure, and the community bled out to platforms with modern file hosting. It is sad to see a legend in this state, but right now, the site is just a digital graveyard.

I understand the nostalgia, but new users need a reality check. Hongfire suffered a catastrophic database failure years ago. Trying to figure out which download link corresponds to which mod is a nightmare of broken thumbnails and "404 Not Found."
