Hotmail (stylized as HoTMaiL ) was one of the first free web-based email services, launched in 1996 by Sabeer Bhatia and Jack Smith. It was acquired by Microsoft in 1997 and rebranded to Windows Live Hotmail in 2007, then finally to Outlook.com in 2013.
