I. The Concept At first glance, the moonflower ( Ipomoea alba ) — a tender, white, night-blooming vine that releases a haunting, sweet fragrance — and hardcore — a subgenre of punk and electronic music defined by fast tempos, dissonant chords, breakdowns, and raw aggression — seem antithetical. One is ephemeral and passive; the other is confrontational and visceral.
