Python 3.13.1 Release - Date December 2025

This is a forward-looking article written as an example of technical release documentation. As of the current date (April 2026), Python 3.13.1 has already been released. For actual release history, refer to docs.python.org .

If you are still on Python 3.12 or earlier, consider first upgrading to Python 3.13.0, then to 3.13.1. The 3.13 series brings significant performance improvements (including an optional JIT compiler) and better error messages – and now, with 3.13.1, greater reliability. python 3.13.1 release date december 2025
