The directors, Kenneth Branagh, felt he was too “bro-ish” and polished. But Hemsworth’s brother, Liam (also an actor), was called in to read. At the last minute, Chris asked his team to let him try again—but this time, he improvised. He came in disheveled, humble, and earnest, reading the scenes with a raw, comedic vulnerability beneath the brawn.
