Vouwwand Theater [2K 2025]

1. Introduction & Definition The Vouwwand Theater (translated from Dutch: "Folding Wall Theater") is a mobile, demountable, and transformable architectural structure designed for theatrical performances, public events, and community gatherings. It is a prime example of temporary, adaptive reuse architecture —typically built from repurposed shipping containers, steel frames, or modular wooden panels that "fold out" to create a stage, seating, and acoustical shell.

Report compiled based on Dutch architectural archives, case studies from Stichting Bouwreactor, and interviews with theater technicians (2020–2024). vouwwand theater
