A string of mysterious events had been occurring around the city, all captured on camera by curious bystanders. The footage, though grainy (only 360p resolution), seemed to show a ghostly figure wandering the streets at night.
The vigilante, who came to be known as "The Shadow," was using the grainy footage to taunt the police, leaving clues and challenging Jim and Maria to unravel the mystery.
The final shot was of the city's skyline, with the sound of a solitary figure walking in the distance, the darkness swallowing them whole.
